Service to Our Country In Virginia and their Military Service 2024 6th Edition

He won’t forget his family when he deploys. And neither will we. Veterans who work at Dominion Energy are in good company: 1 in 5 new hires has served in the military. And should they be deployed while on the job, we’ll proudly continue their family’s benefits for up to five years and cover the difference between their current salary and military pay. Because family watches out for family, and they’ll always be a part of ours.

1 Introduction As a veteran, it is my honor and privilege to share with you this latest edition of In Service To Our Country. Virginia is proudly home to nearly 700,000 military veterans—one of the largest percentages of veterans per population of any state. Of these, many of these veterans continue to serve our Commonwealth in the Executive and Legislative branches of our state government. In this booklet are brief profiles of these men and women, their service history and in what positions they serve today. The sense of duty instilled in each of these men and women while in uniform carries on in their unselfish service to their fellow citizens as does their personal understanding of the importance of Virginia’s veterans and families to the economic and social well-being of all. Each stands ready to listen to veteran centric needs and concerns, ensuring together we continue to make Virginia the best place for veterans and their families to live, work and thrive. On behalf of the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, our Commonwealth, and our Nation, please join me in recognizing and extending our gratitude to these dedicated public servants for their continued efforts.
